DCSS Version 1.4.2 (dated June 15, 2022) incorporated two prior addenda into the DCSS: [Digital Cinema Object-Based Audio Addendum, dated October 1, 2018] and [DCI Stereoscopic Digital Cinema Addendum, Version 1.0, dated July 11, 2007]. Users will no longer need to refer to these separate addenda.

ARCHIVED ADDENDA (integral to the DCSS version 1.4.2) with no editorial changes.

DCI has converted the DV Addendum and HDR Addendum to HTML (and a corresponding new PDF), and approved for publication on the Website on 10/14/22. linked to on the Current DCI Spec page

There are no editorial changes so the version number doesn't change (Still version 1.0)

These two addenda below are the originals of the replaced documents are supplements and integral to the DCSS Version 1.4.2:

DV Addendum and HDR Addendum to HTML (with a corresponding new PDF), approved for publication on the website on 14 October 2022. There are no editorial changes, so the version number remains 1.0.


 

 

 

ARCHIVED DCSS VERSION 1.4.2, dated June 15, 2022

ARCHIVED DCSS Version 1.4.2 includes revisions and refinements respecting Object-Based Audio Essence (OBAE), also known as Immersive Audio Bitstream (IAB). Version 1.4.2 also implements post-show log record collection utilizing [SMPTE 430-17 SMS-OMB Communications Protocol Specification]. Figures in the DCSS have also been refreshed.

Furthermore, ARCHIVED DCSS Version 1.4.2 incorporates two prior addenda into the DCSS: [Digital Cinema Object-Based Audio Addendum, dated October 1, 2018] and [DCI Stereoscopic Digital Cinema Addendum, Version 1.0, dated July 11, 2007]. Users will no longer need to refer to these separate addenda.

The ARCHIVED DCSS 1.4.2 is available as an online HTML edition and as a PDF file. The PDF version contains pagination and includes page numbers whereas the HTML version does not. The PDF version is considered the definitive instance of the Digital Cinema System Specification, Version 1.4.2.

There is also an ARCHIVED redline version that compares DCSS 1.4.2 to DCSS 1.4.1, showing additions and deletions. The redline is available in an online HTML or PDF edition.

    CTP 1.4a is the current version on CTP page release NOTE: this release is intended to be substantially identical to release 1.4 as a "stage 1" revision to 1.4 Pursuant to DCI's Compliance Test Plan Change Policy Statement, the release of CTP 1.4 constitutes a "stage 2" revision as it imposes new requirements and so will go into effect in 120 days, Saturday December 02, 2023.
