COMPLIANCE TEST PLAN ARCHIVE

The DCI Digital Cinema System Specification (DCSS) is intended to promote the widespread deployment of high quality digital cinema equipment that is interoperable and provides rigorous content security. The Compliance Test Plan (CTP) was created by DCI to provide a uniform testing procedure for demonstrating compliance with the DCSS. Manufacturers may demonstrate compliance by developing equipment in accordance with the DCSS and its referenced SMPTE, ISO and FIPS standards, and then submitting the equipment for testing to a third-party entity licensed by DCI to administer the CTP.

CTP VERSION 1.3.2

DCI has published a revision of its Compliance Test Plan (CTP) from version 1.3.1 to version 1.3.2, dated October 13, 2022.

CTP version 1.3.2 refines policies applying to Part III Consolidated Test Procedures. These revisions provide additional guidance, definitions and examples for how a device already listed on the DCI Compliant Equipment web page can avoid retesting when participating in a Test Session with a new Test Subject. Also, some OBAE test materials are updated in Appendix A.

Pursuant to DCI's Compliance Test Plan Change Policy Statement, the revision of CTP 1.3.1 to CTP 1.3.2 is a Stage 1 change. However, rather than taking effect immediately, the CTP 1.3.2 will take effect on October 29, 2022, the effective date of CTP 1.3. (To avoid any uncertainty, CTP 1.3 and CTP 1.3.1 are deprecated in favor of CTP 1.3.2 on said effective date.)

In addition, DCI has published the CTP Addendum on Testing, dated October 13, 2022, a revision that excuses legacy compliant equipment from certain CTP tests for the purposes of a Confidence Retest.

The CTP Version 1.3.2 is available both as an online HTML edition and as a PDF file. The PDF version contains pagination and includes page numbers whereas the HTML version does not. The PDF version is considered the definitive instance of the Compliance Test Plan, Version 1.3.2.

There is a redline version that compares CTP 1.3.2 to CTP 1.3.1, showing additions and deletions. The redline is available in an online HTML edition. A redline is also available showing the changes between the previous and new CTP Addendum on Testing. Future CTP revisions will modify the CTP version 1.3.2.

CTP VERSION 1.3.1

DCI has published a revision of its Compliance Test Plan (CTP) from version 1.3 to version 1.3.1. This CTP 1.3.1 revision harmonizes the CTP with the Digital Cinema System Specification (DCSS) version 1.4.2.

CTP 1.3 referenced DCSS 1.4.1. CTP 1.3.1 now references DCSS 1.4.2. CTP 1.3 referenced the separate Object-Based Audio (OBAE) Addendum. The OBAE Addendum is integrated into DCSS 1.4.2, so CTP 1.3.1 references DCSS OBAE sections. Also, CTP 1.3.1 includes source code and schema improvements, e.g., memory leak patches.

Pursuant to DCI's Compliance Test Plan Change Policy Statement, the revision of CTP 1.3 to CTP 1.3.1 is a Stage 1 change. However, rather than taking effect immediately, the CTP 1.3.1 will take effect on October 29, 2022, the effective date of CTP 1.3.

The CTP Version 1.3.1 is available both as an online HTML edition and as a PDF file. The PDF version contains pagination and includes page numbers whereas the HTML version does not. The PDF version is considered the definitive instance of the Compliance Test Plan, Version 1.3.1.

There is also a redline version that compares CTP 1.3.1 to CTP 1.3, showing additions and deletions. The redline is available in an online HTML edition. Future CTP revisions will modify the CTP Version 1.3.1.

In addition, DCI has published a revision to the CTP Addendum on Testing, dated October 13, 2022, that harmonizes it with the changes to Part III in CTP 1.3.2.
